Weight Loss Wednesday

Hey everyone!! It’s been a while since I’ve been on here. I’ve been going through a lot of crazy medical stuff which is driving me crazy..lol

But on a good note, I have lost 5 pounds. I haven’t really been very hungry lately and I’ve been drinking a lot of water, which is helping. I think the less I stress out about about losing weight, the more weight I actually lose.

At the end of May I start the process for gastric bypass. I just wish I could start sooner but I got to be patient.

Thanks everyone for reading my post and taking this journey with me.

Fotd-Weekend Edition

Hey everyone! This weekend it was gorgeous in Michigan. Sunday my husband, daughter and I spent the whole day doing fun stuff like going to a dairy farm and drinking homemade milkshakes. It was go good. We also cleaned up the yard and planted flowers.

Here is my makeup look that I wore on Sunday.

I wanted something neutral but with a pop of color. This is usually my go to makeup look

I used my Urban Decay Naked palette and L’OREAL Infallible 24hr eyeshadow in Endless sea for the pop of color. The lipstick I’m wearing is Essence blush my lips. I also tried out the Nivea Post Shave Balm. I will be reviewing that soon.

Favorite Foundation Brush

Hey everyone!

So to go with my last post on foundation basics, I thought I would share my favorite foundation brush.

My favorite foundation brush is the expert face brush from Real Techniques. This is perfect for blending out your foundation seamlessly without leaving brush marks.

How I use it- If I’m using a liquid foundation, I will dot the product around my face. Then I will start in the middle of my face a swirl the brush around to the outside of my face to blend it out. It’s so easy.

If I’m using a mousse foundation, I just dip my brush into the jar and then apply like above. Just make sure you blend it down your neck so you don’t have any weird lines. I still forget to do that from time to time..lol
I think applying foundation is one of the easiest parts of applying makeup and the right tools always help get the job done.

What’s your favorite why to apply foundation?

Thanks for reading me post!

Weight Loss Wednesday…Kinda??

Hey everyone!!
I was so busy yesterday that I totally forgot about weight loss Wednesday. I forgot that yesterday was even Wednesday..lol.

So here goes…..

I have not been feeling very good lately and I was in the hospital for a couple days last week. I still have no idea what’s going on but I’m having some trouble regulating my blood pressure. Which is not fun. The good news is that since I haven’t been feeling very well, I lost 4 pounds. It’s not the best way to lose weight but right now I will take what I can get.

So….

My doctor has recommended gastric bypass. My husband and I went to a seminar last night at the hospital and it was very informative. I’ve decided to get the surgery. It will help with a lot of my health problems. I’m very nervous because it’s a lot of hard work. A lot of people think it’s an easy way out but it’s really not. So, in the coming months I will have a ton of doctors appointments and classes that I have to take.

I would love to take you on this journey with me. I could use all the support I can get 🙂 Thank you for already supporting my weight loss Wednesday’s. You have no idea how much I appreciate it.

Thank you for reading my post.

My thoughts- This is one of the best body butters that I have used in a long time. Besides being moisturizing, it also has an amazing smell. It’s a light fragrance that reminds me of my Grandma but not in an old person kind of way, if that makes sense..lol

Another thing that makes me not only love this body butter but also the company, is that they partnered with Clean the World and for every item purchased, soap is distributed to people at risk for hygiene related illnesses. I love companies that work with charities. I will always buy from those companies first.

I will be buying a full size of the body butter and I will be checking out everything else this company carries.

What is your favorite body butter?

Beauty Basics-Foundation

Hey everyone!

Here’s the second edition in the beauty basics series. Yay!!!

Most people know what foundation is and how and why we use it but for the makeup beginner it can be frustrating trying to find the correct shade and formula that works for your skin. Just so you know, it’s still frustrating and I’ve been using makeup forever. Just thinking about it makes me feel old..lol  The key for foundation is trial and error. It sucks but when you find a good one stick with it. We all are looking for our holy grail foundation.

When starting out I recommend using drug store foundation. They are actually really good and not as expensive as the high end.

All I use are drug store foundations. I love them because I can always try new ones without breaking the bank. Here are my favorites.

Photos from the Target website
I just started using this foundation, it gives a beautiful Matte finish that’s medium to full coverage. Matte finishes are good if you have oily skin.

This is also perfect If you have oily skin. It’s demi-matte so it’s not completely matte but it’s oil free, so it will work for oily skin.
This is my all time favorite drug store foundation. It’s not matte and it’s not dewy. It’s the perfect formula for my skin.

Things to think about-

  • What type of skin do you have? If you have oily skin you probably don’t want a dewy foundation.
  • What type of coverage do you want? If you have a lot of redness, you may want a full coverage foundation.
  • Primer is very important. Primer helps smooth out your face so the foundation goes on smooth and lasts. Primer can also help with redness, oily skin and help your skin look more radiant.
  • Read the bottle. A lot of time foundations will say if they what type of coverage you can expect.
  • This I think is the most important thing to remember!! What works for one person may not work for you. We all have different skin types, just because your best friend raves about a foundation doesn’t always mean it’s going to look the same on you.
  • Last but not least. Most drug stores will let you return makeup. Which is amazing because you don’t want to be stuck with a ton of foundation that you can’t use.

I hope this helps when picking out a foundation. If you have any questions or have anymore tips, please let me know.

Review-E.L.F. Daily Brush Cleaner

Hey everyone!! About a month ago I purchased the E.L.F. Daily Brush Cleaner. I thought for the price I would give it a try

I purchased this from Walmart for only $2.85

How I use this- This is so easy to use. I spray it on my dirty brush and rub it on a old towel. You don’t need to rinse.

My Thoughts- The first thing I noticed was the smell. It’s a very strong floral fragrance. After I finish cleaning my brushes I usually have a headache from the smell.

The brush cleaner works really well and it doesn’t take a long time to clean all my brushes. The only thing I noticed was that my brushes that I’ve had forever and have cleaned many time, started shedding. I don’t know if it’s them telling me that it’s time to retire or it’s the brush cleaner. It’s not enough shedding to make me stop using this product.

Final Thought- This is a great brush cleaner for the price. You do still need to deep clean your brushes but this work very well for the daily spot cleaning. I would repurchase this in the future.

Essence Soo Glow! Review

Hey everyone! Many of you know that I recently hauled a bunch of Essence products to try, I’ve tried most of them so far and I have to say I’m really liking a lot of them.

One that I’m loving is the Essence Soo Glow! Cream to powder highlighter in look on the bright side.

It’s a beautiful champagne gold color and looks so beautiful on the skin.

  Daylight
  Flash

 Blended out

Soo Glow gives a very subtle highlight that lasts all day. I think the name is pretty accurate because it does give your skin a glow. Sometimes I prefer a nice glow over a strong highlight.

The highlighter blends out beautifully. I feel like sometimes a cream to powder product can look really cakey on the skin, this doesn’t look cakey at all.

I love this highlighter and I also like that it’s only $3.49 at target. There is also a pink highlighter which I will be purchasing really soon.

Thank you so much for reading my post. If you like what you see please follow for more fun reviews.

Essence Blush Up!

Hey everyone, so I have been trying out a bunch of Essence products. One product that I really like is the Essence Blush Up! powder blush in heat wave.

This powder has an ombré that starts out orange and turns to a dark pink but once you swirl your brush you get a really pretty coral color. The color is perfect for spring and summer and would look amazing on a darker skin tone. It does have a really pretty sheen.

Here is a pic of it blended out so you can see the sheen. It’s so pretty, especially in person.

  In natural light
  With flash
I’m in love with this blush. It’s gorgeous and for only $3.99 at Target, it’s also very affordable. I will definitely be picking up more shades.
