Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation Review

Hey everyone,

Lately I’ve been trying out a bunch of different foundations. I heard a lot of good stuff about the Vitalist Healthy Elixir from Covergirl. So, I was excited to try it out.

Description from Covergirl Website-

Hydrate your skin while keeping it looking flawless with COVERGIRL Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation. Finally a hydrating, vitamin-infused formula for beautiful, buildable coverage that glides on smoothly for a flawless look. This liquid foundation is infused with Vitamins E, B3, B5, SPF 20 plus a special antioxidant and vitamin complex. Give your skin a health and luminous glow. Part of our Vitalist Healthy Elixir family.

It sounds like an amazing foundation. It has a ton of good reviews. A lot of the beauty influencers rave about this foundation. But I should have known when I picked it up that the lightest shade they had at the store, 705 ivory looked like it might be to dark for my pale skin. Which is the lightest shade they carry in this line.

If this foundation actually stayed the same shade as when I applied it, it wouldn’t have been so bad. But after about 10 minutes or so, it oxidized so bad that I looked like an Oompa Loompa.

When first applied.. It was a little dark but I could work with it.

After it sat on my skin for awhile, it turned darker, which wouldn’t have been so bad if they had lighter shades.

The formula is great. Perfect for summer, it gives your skin a healthy glow. This would work out great for medium or dark skin tones.

I’ve tried mixing this with different foundations but it doesn’t work. Maybe when I get a tan, it will look better.

If they decided to come out with the foundation for lighter skin tones, I would definitely try it out again. But for now, it’s a pass for me.

Have you tried out this foundation? What are your thoughts?

Dollar Tree Makeup Look

Hey everyone,

A couple days ago, I posted about some Dollar Tree makeup. So yesterday I put that makeup to the test.

Dollar Tree makeup used:

  • Beauty Benefits Bronzer in Sepia
  • Beauty Benefits Blush in Crimson
  • Beauty Benefits eyeshadow trio in Classic

Eyes- Brown shade in the crease, pink shade on the lid and bluish green shade on my lower lash line.

Face- Used bronzer as contour and blush on my cheeks.

Pros-

  • Pigmented
  • Easy to blend
  • Stayed in place for 6 hours

Cons-

  • Very powdery and lots of fallout.
  • Blush is very pigmented, so you can end up looking like a clown.
  • The bronzer has a lot of shimmer. (Which is a con to me but may not be for you)

After 6 hours of wear time. We went out for Mexican food and I was sweating like a whore..lol

I think this is great makeup for someone who is just starting out or on a budget. You don’t have to spend a fortune to look good.

Dollar Tree Hidden Gem

Hey everyone,

So, this is not a new product at the Dollar Tree but it’s new to me. It’s the Bolero products. I’ve seen a lot of posts about them but didn’t give them much thought.

Well, when I was in the Dollar Tree I saw a display of them I decided to grab one of the facial wipes.

I bought the honeysuckle and green tea scents and it’s has a light fresh scent. This made my skin feel really soft and hydrated without it being greasy.

The packaging claims- A refreshing way to reveal skin that is not only deeply cleaned, but softer, smoother and more noticeably radiant.

I googled Bolero and found them on Amazon. The facial wipes are selling for $7. So finding these at Dollar Tree is a really good deal.

If you find these in your local Dollar Tree, I would definitely pick this up and try it out.

Dollar Tree Makeup!!

Hey everyone,

As you all know, I’m kinda obsessed with the Dollar Tree. I’m also obsessed with makeup. So when you put those two together, I’m in heaven.

The other day at the Dollar Tree, I noticed a new makeup brand that I’ve never heard of called Beauty Benefits. So, I decided to do some research and found out that Beauty Benefits is owned by Markwin, who also owns Wet n Wild and a bunch of other makeup brands. That’s pretty much all the info that I found out.

Beauty Benefits is made in China and the blush and bronzer is not to be used around the eyes and lips. Which sounds a little scary..lol

One thing I really like about these is the packaging. It’s sleek and compact, perfect for traveling.

  • Bronzer in Sepia
  • Blush in Crimson
  • Eyeshadow trio in Classic

They also swatch very nicely and are pigmented. They also stain the skin, which a lot of beauty Influensters say can tell the staying power of the shadows.

Beauty Benefits have a nice shade range of blushes and bronzers. They also offer mascara, liquid eyeliner, pencil eyeliner, pressed powders and lipgloss. All for only $1!!!

I can’t say how the quality and staying power is because I haven’t tried these out yet but will give you a full report when I do.

What are your thoughts on Dollar Tree makeup?
