Happy birthday Mattie!!

Today is my baby girls first birthday. Mattie was born two months premature due to me having preeclampsia. I was in the hospital forever not knowing when I would deliver. But on March 31st my blood pressure got so high that we had to have an emergency c-section. At 11:56am Mattie Elizabeth came into this world at 3 pounds screaming so loud, I couldn’t believe that was my little preemie.

Because I was so sick I had to be put back on magnesium, which is horrible. When on magnesium you can’t get out of bed, which meant I couldn’t see my daughter because she was in the NICU. My husband was so sweet and sent me pictures and FaceTime with me.

Here is the first picture of my little Mattie.

Mattie ended up staying in the hospital for 60 days, it was so hard to be away from her but the Doctors and nurses took wonderful care of Mattie.

On Mother’s Day 2015 we were finally able to take her home. It’s been so amazing to see this little girl grow and learn.

Mattie is our little fighter. She’s so smart that sometimes I forget that she’s two months behind.

We know in our hearts that Mattie wouldn’t be here without her guardian angel Riley.

Happy birthday to the sweetest, kindest, strongest and smartest little girl I have ever met.

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

Hey everyone!! I hope everyone is enjoying their night or morning. It’s a little after 9pm here and I’m ready to go to bed. It’s been a long day.

I’m going to review Maybelline The Falsies Mascara. I know there are a couple different versions and the one I have is the flared.

I really have no cons for this mascara. I have used this for a couple weeks and I absolutely love it. My ordinary go to mascara is the L’OREAL Voluminous Carbon Black. I actually think the falsies is a better mascara and I’m kicking myself for not trying it sooner.

Reasons why I like it-

  • It coats my lashes perfectly
  • Doesn’t clump
  • Last all day without flaking
  • Give my tiny lashes volume

Reason why I don’t like it-

  • The name is really misleading. My eyelashes do not look like falsies. No where near it.

I really do love this mascara and it’s in the running for holy grail status. I will definitely be repurchasing and I recommend this to everyone but just remember what works for me may not work for you.

Starting this week I will be trying out a new mascara, so keep an eye out for that review. I’m always on the hunt for the next best thing.

What are your favorite mascara’s?

Weight Loss Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!! I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful day.

Well, I think I’m going to change the name of this series to weight gain Wednesday. So this week I gained another pound. I’m actually surprised that I didn’t gain more weight.

I have been going through a lot lately. I have fibromyalgia and I’m having a fibromyalgia flare, which is not fun and very painful. My doctor changed my medicine and of course the side affects are weight gain and increased appetite. I’m not using that as an excuse, since I have been trying to eat healthy but even when I eat healthy, I still eat a large amount of food. It’s just very frustrating.

Tomorrow is my daughters first birthday and we are having the grandparents over for cake and ice cream and on Sunday we are having a big party with all the family. I just need to stay strong and keep eating healthy. That’s all I can do until I get through this fibromyalgia flare.

What are some things you do to get back on track after a set back?

Thanks for reading my post.

March Favorites

Hey everybody, I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday. I can’t believe March is almost over. Thursday is my daughters first birthday. I can’t believe it’s been a year already. On Thursday I will write a post all about my beautiful daughter Mattie.

This is my first favorites post. I’m so excited because I have a lot of favorites this month. I’m always happy when I find products that work for me.

Everyone knows how much I love these, I wrote about them twice already. If you haven’t tried them, you should. They are so good.
The Butter Bronzer from Physicians Formula is so amazing. I’ve never felt a bronzer so smooth and creamy feeling. Plus, it smells amazing.
This foundation goes on so smooth that it feels like you’re not wearing foundation at all. I love how it lasts all day long.

Lip products are my absolute favorite. I’ve been trying not to buy so many. These are some that I purchased this month that I absolutely love. The E.l.f. Matte lip colors are so good and very affordable. I also love the Covergirl Lip Lava when I want my lips to sparkle and shine.
Wet n Wild has come out with some amazing new products. The contouring palette is beautiful. I highly recommend this product.

Wet n wild color icon blushes are so pigmented and blend so beautifully. Seriously, for the price you will not be disappointed.
theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer is simply gorgeous for giving my skin a beautiful glow. I love it!!

The Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon palette is my number one favorite product of the month. I would be lost without it. The colors are amazing. I can go from a simple look to a glam look with just this palette.

What are your favorite products of the month?

Milani & NYC

Happy Easter!!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. We are getting ready to head out to church and then lunch with my parents and my In-Laws. What is everyone’s plans for this beautiful Easter Day?

Yesterday we stopped at the Dollar Tree to find some small stuff for my daughters Easter Basket and some Spring Decor to put on my other daughters headstone. The Dollar Tree always has the cutest spring decor for the garden.

While I was there I had to check out the cosmetic aisle. I was so excited when I found the Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadows and NYX Eyeshadow palette.

I love these eyeshadows, I already own two of them that I paid $4.99 each and I picked up these five shadows for $5 for all of them. I do love the Dollar Tree.

I used to own this palette a long time ago but it just didn’t work very well for me. I’ve heard that they redid the formula and it’s better now. I’m hoping it works better for me now but for only $1, I won’t be to sad if it doesn’t.

I love when I find amazing deals at the Dollar Tree. So, if you love Milani or NYC run don’t walk to your Dollar Tree and grab them before they are all gone.

Wet n Wild Mattifying Powder

Happy Saturday or as my husband has been saying Happy Pre-Easter. I hope everyone has a great day. We will be coloring eggs and trying to find stuff for our daughters Easter basket. If anyone has any ideas on what to do for a baby who is almost 1, please let me know. Lol

In my last haul, I purchased the Wet n Wild Mattifying Powder in Matte about you.

I purchased this at Walgreens when they were having a buy one get one 50% off sale. I was looking on the Wet n Wild website for a description but I couldn’t find this on their site. So I found a description on the Walgreen website.

From the Walgreen website-

Take on the day. Feel shiny within, not without! Revolutionary light-reflecting powder contains porous silica beads, which absorb oil and minimize shine. Lightweight powder feels weightless on the skin without adding color, and sets with a luminous, soft-focus finish.

Cruelty free.

Made in China

Use alone or over makeup to set and seal foundation. Brush powder lightly and evenly over face and neck. May be used throughout the day for touch-ups and to rid shine.

This is just a basic mattifying powder. It does a wonderful job of keeping my face matte all day. I’m not sure why they would describe this as setting with a luminous, soft-focus finish when it’s suppose to be a mattifying powder.

Final thoughts- This is so basic that there really is nothing special about it. It does get the job done and I will continue to use it until it’s gone but I probably won’t be repurchasing. I do recommend this to anyone looking for a basic mattifying powder.
