Ditching The Conditioner

Hey everyone,

7 months ago I had gastric sleeve surgery. One of the side effects from Bariatric surgery is hair loss. I really thought I was going to go bald. It was so bad. The hair loss has finally slowed down… Yay!!

One thing that has helped my hair look fuller and give it more body is getting rid of my hair conditioner. I noticed after I used conditioner, my hair was limp and stringy. I thought at first it was the conditioner that I was losing but after buying way to many conditioners to try, I realized it was just conditioner in general.

So I ditched the conditioner and replaced it with Moroccan oil. I don’t think I will ever be going back to conditioner.

I have been using the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Moroccan Argan Oil. After washing my hair, I towel dry it and then use just a small amount of the oil. I always let my hair air dry.

Since using the oil, my hair is shiny, soft, sleek and more manageable. I love it!!!!

The only downside is that if you use to much, your hair can look oily. Just use a very small amount and you will never have to worry about oily hair.

Here is my hair after using the oil. I wish I would have took a before picture of when I was using conditioner.

What do you use on your hair for conditioner?

L’OREAL Extraordinary Oil Shampoo & Conditioner

Good morning everyone!!!

I have seen so many reviews on the L’OREAL Extraordinary Oil shampoo and conditioner. So I’m not going to go into it to deep but I do want to give my opinion.

Description- Very dry, curly hair? Renourish it. Renourish and redefine curls with the L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Curls system. Curls go from dry & coarse to renourished & redefined in just one wash.

• For very dry, curly hair

• Renourishes and redefines curls in 1 wash

• With Oil-Complex

 From the Target website.

Final Thoughts Shampoo & Conditioner- My hair is more wavy than curly. I think that may have played a part in my final thoughts about this product.

The first thing I noticed was that the L’OREAL Extraordinary Oil shampoo smells amazing. I always love a shampoo that smells good.  The second was that it lathered really well and made my hair feel so silk and smooth with just the shampoo.

The conditioner also made my hair feel smooth and silky. It also has the same great smell as the shampoo.

After drying my hair is where the problem came in for me. One of two things would happen to my hair. It would either be frizzy or oily. I’m not sure what I was doing to get two different reactions to the shampoo. I can understand the oily reaction because my hair in not that dry but for it to frizz was weird.

I will continue to use this shampoo and conditioner until it’s gone but if I repurchase, I will buy the one for dry and lifeless hair. Which claims to be light weight and non-greasy.

What are your thoughts on this shampoo and conditioner?

Small Haul

Yesterday after my doctors appointment, I went to Kroger to pick up my prescription and of course the pharmacy is right by the cosmetic aisle. So, had to check out some of the sales.

Products-

  • L’OREAL new extraordinary oil for curly hair shampoo and conditioner. I’ve seen a lot of good reviews on this and thought I would give it a try. I haven’t had a hair cut since I found out I was pregnant and my daughter will be 1 on the 31st, so it’s been a long time and my hair is looking bad. These were on sale for $3.99 each.
  • Maybelline Volum’express the falsies flared mascara in blackest black. I’m always on the hunt for a good mascara. This was only $5.99, so I thought I would give it a try.

That’s it for my haul. I will do a review on these products.
